In his documentary and travel work, Kansas City based editorial photographer Chuong Doan depicts singular, charismatic moments in everyday scenes. The result of a congenial rapport with his subjects, Chuong's artistic process -- particularly for his portraits and street photography-- reveals spirited personalities in their home environment, whether rural or urban, to capture what Chuong believes is the "truth of the moment, if not the essence of the subject." Characterized by their saturated colors or deep, emotive shadows in black and white, Chuong's photos convey the mood and atmosphere of individual and location without losing his distinct point of view. Chuong's style is a natural fit for editorial spreads, fine art prints, and topical exhibition subjects. Clients appreciate Chuong's engaging, self-directed style.
